NCISAA Summer Showcase Session 1 Recap
High School Hoops8 Balla Hoop Insider covered the first ever NCISAA summer showcase hosted by Greensboro Day School which brought many of the top private school teams under one roof. This was the first year the NCAA has allowed division one college basketball coaches to attend these summer events. Here are the players who stood out.
Cannon School has trio of talented players who stoodout.
6'3 2022 Jaden Bradley there is a reason he has the top spot in his class. This floor general constantly found teammates for easy open looks and pushed the tempo of the game. He had a few nice high light dunks. We would love to see him shoot the ball more and display his jump shot, but you can't find another guard in his class with his court vision.
6'4 2021 Jarvis Moss was by far the most consistent and explosive player we got to see during the live period. He really opened many college coaches eyes with his improvement to his game. On Friday night in front of 50 plus college coaches, he erupted for 30pts against Ravenscroft. He scored every way possible and put on a highlight reel of dunks and threes. We look for his stock to blow up as he preps for a big junior season.
7"0 2022 Christian Reeves played much better than he did when we watched him earlier at the Myers Park Summer league in Charlotte NC. He ran the floor well and finished dunks in traffic. He also got his hands on a ton of rebounds and blocked shots. As this young man gets stronger we can see big things coming, some college will get a great player.
Concord First Assembly shows why they will be in the mix for the top Private school team in the state and state title contender.
6'3 2021 Trae Benham showed that he could light it up and would be the primary scorer for his team. He constantly knocked down left hand three point shots and scored when his team needed him.
Other notable standouts: 6'8 2020 Cheick Traore, 6'4 2020 Ambake Le Gregam
Greensboro Day the host school and back to back to back state champs are poised to try to win there 4th state title in a row.
6'3 2022 Jaydon Young this new comer is going to fit in nice he has a huge ceiling and this tough nose guard will make a name for him self in his class nationally. He displayed a very nice ball handle and smooth jump shot off the dribble.
6'3 2021 Cam Hayes has been on a tear he is one of the hottest guards in the south. He is quick with the ball and scores at all levels.
United Faith is Hanging with Mr Cooper
6'4 2020 Ford Cooper Jr has been dropping nice passes off to teammates and making tough shots all weekend. His college recruitment is picking up, so it will be good to see where he lands. His body has improved a lot and he will fill the need for a college who needs a point guard to come in and run the show.
notable players: 6'6 2020 Josh Massey is a long wing who plays above the rim and can score off the dribble.
Wesleyan Christian has a few bullets left in the chamber.
6'2 2021 Aisaiah Phillips put on a show coming off the bench to constantly score a number of ways he shot the ball well and played at a high clip. He is a kid D1 coaches need to be all over.
6'4 2023 Dice Royster will be in the running for top incoming freshman in the state he plays above his age he isn't shy and he scored well against his older counter parts.
Northside Christian young but deadly
6'2 2021 Glynn Hubbard 3rd is a scrappy guard who plays with a chip on his shoulder and scores all types of ways.
6'4 2022 Wesley Tubbs 3rd is a long skinny wing who has room to grow but what he brings to the table on defense and offense is vital. He slashed to the basket for scores and showed he could also knock down open shoots.
6'3 2022 MJ Collins is a shooter and got after it on defense. We look forward to seeing this young group of guards develop.
