Wesleyan Christian Academy Drew Greene Ready for New Role
One on OneMany players have the talent, but a special few have both the character and humility to lead by example. One of those players happens to be 2019's Drew Greene.
How was your offseason? What part of your game did you improve the most?
My off-season was great! I got in the gym and the weight room a ton! I improved my three point percentage and just became a more consistent shooter. I worked on improving my strength and speed. Lastly I worked on getting my handles tighter as well.
How have you bonded with your new coach?
Coach Lee is great, we have bonded very well! He is a great role model already to me and he played the point guard spot in college and loved to play defense like me, so I have picked his brain constantly!
How do you feel about the team this year?
I think a lot of people will overlook us but I think we have a great shot to be a really good team if we keep working hard and building chemistry together.
Are you excited about your new role taking over leadership of the team?
I am very excited to have a leadership role, I like to lead and I want to lead by example both with my actions and words. I think I can be a positive role model on and off the court for the guys, and I think the guys will help me become a better leader and person as well.
What is your GPA and S.A.T score?
My GPA is a 4.7 and my SAT score is a 1260
What current offers do you have?
I currently hold an offer from Campbell University. But I have picked up some interest in the past couple of weeks from Austin Peay, USC-Upstate, Drexel and VMI.
Do you have plans to take any unofficial or official visits?
I am going to sit down with my parents in the coming weeks to set some dates for some visits. I would like to visit Campbell, Austin Peay and USC-Upstate if everything works out.
What college teams did you grow up watching?
I grew up in Chapel Hill so I always watched the Tar Heels, but I love basketball so much that it does not matter what game is on as long as it’s basketball I’m going to sit down and watch!
I know how much your parents have supported your basketball journey. What is one thing you would like to say or do to let them know you appreciate them?
I appreciate my parents spending so much time in gyms over the years! People also don’t realize that a hoopers family goes through a lot as well. I love my parents tons and really appreciate them with being so positive even in the rough times with this game! So I love them tons for that!!!
What game are you looking forward to this season?
I’m not looking forward to one game in specific on our schedule but I want to catch a game or two of Aaron’s and Jaylen’s. I really want to help this Wesleyan team get a ring, so whatever it takes to get that I’m willing to do!!!
