The Bounce Back of 6'5 2020 Avery Keller
One on OneThe hoopstate has a ton of talent and there are many guys who are currently flying under the radar. 8 Balla Hoop Insider has found one of those diamonds in the rough—in Avery Keller from Hibriten High School.
How do you feel going into your junior season? Do you feel your game has improved a lot?
I feel good going into my junior season. I was out a while over the summer because of back trouble but I have been back in the gym and feel like my shot is improving a lot.
How many points did you average as a sophomore?
17.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game.
What is your current GPA? Have you taken the ACT or SAT?
My current GPA is 4.285, weighted. I have taken the pre ACT and I am in a SAT prep class.
What parts of your game stand out the most?
The part of my game that stands out the most would be my ability to drive to the basket and finish at the rim.
What are some of the colleges you're interested in?
College of Charleston, Western Carolina, Newberry, Carson Newman.
What are some of the core values that make you the person that you are?
I try to be a good person to all those that I meet. I value family, friends, and being the best person I can be. I want to be a good teammate that encourages others and leads by example.
Who are your biggest supporters? Who do you turn to for advice?
I would have to say my older brother is my biggest supporter and also who I go to for advice because he has been through this and has experience.
Outside of basketball, tell us something you're good at that most people wouldn't know.
I'm good at keeping up with my school work and making sure that things are turned in on time and that I am paying attention in class.
What's your best basketball moment so far?
My best basketball moment was when we beat West Caldwell at their place because they are our county rival. That was my best game of the year stat wise. I knew everyone was watching and we played a good team game and got the win.
Which game are you looking forward to this season?
The game I am looking forward to again is the West Caldwell game because of all the hype surronding the game. The gym will be packed.
Have you been on any unofficial visits?
I have not been on any visits at this point but I plan to visit several colleges during my junior year.
Do you currently have any offers?
I have an offer from Lees McRea.
